Florida State Hospital, a 900
bed state mental health facility, seeks a Florida-licensed PhD or PsyD Psychologist to provide psychological services in a forensic unit under supervision of the facility's Chief Psychologist.
The facility serves adults who are committed under forensic and civil statutes for mental health assessment, treatment, and forensic evaluation.
The person will provide psychological assessment and treatment, as well as forensic evaluation and risk assessment, as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Pertinent qualifications include experience providing psychological assessment and treatment to individuals with psychosis, personality disorders, and difficulties with emotion and behavior regulation, particularly in inpatient settings, as well as training or experience in forensic evaluation.
The employee may be asked to provide clinical supervision to postdoctoral residents, predoctoral interns in APA-accredited program, and master's level employees as well as externs.
The applicant is expected to have familiarity with and commitment to contemporary recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, mental health approaches.
Psychology staff at this facility are regarded as essential employees in designated emergency conditions.
