Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Natural Resources Specialist:
A. Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
To qualify for GS-05:
The Basic Requirement qualifies the applicant for the GS-05 level. Degree:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. For the GS-05 there is no substitution for Education, basic educational requirements is sufficient to qualify. To qualify for GS-07:
Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with the development of brochures for public distribution, 2) Collecting recreation use fees, maintaining records, and accounting for funds, 3) Participating in routing assignments involving conserving, preserving, and restoring project natural and cultural resources, and 4) Performing park management functions associated with park safety and security, developing and maintaining park programs.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education:
Superior Academic Achievement:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher over a four year course of study or 3.5 GPA over final two years of study or in the upper third or graduating class of college, university or major subdivision such as College of Liberal Arts, School of Business, etc. or one full year of graduate level education. OR Combination of Education and experience at the GS-07 Level:
less than one year of Specialized Experience and less than one year of graduate-level education. Compute the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify). Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). To qualify for GS-09:
Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Enforcing environmental resources policies/regulations; 2) Assisting in implementing resource management actions that promote biodiversity and native species; 3) Patrolling project lands and waters to prevent unauthorized use and protection of environmental resources, and 4) Assisting in preparing documents pertaining to leasing and managing project lands. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education:
Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Combination of Education and experience at the GS-09 Level:
less than one year of Specialized Experience; and less than two years of graduate-level education. Compute the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then subtract 18 from your semester hours of graduate education and divide by 18; or subtract 27 from your quarter hours of graduate education and divide by 27. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify). Time in Grade Requirement:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
